Western Australia, Tasmania, NT and the ACT are referred to as ‘underwritten states’. In these states, insurers set the premiums and carry the risk. Insurers can be flexible when setting premiums within statutory guidelines and rewarding business which improve their workplace safety.
In every state, legislation requires that employers provide a safe workplace and protect their employees from financial hardship in the event of a workplace injury.
GIO supports customers in meeting these requirements while protecting their businesses against the unplanned financial impact of a workplace injury.
Immediate notification is the key to quick resolution of a claim - and least possible interruption to business.
