Do you need Public & Products Liability Insurance?

Public Liability Insurance is designed to cover your most basic insurance needs as a business – and may protect you against claims for third-party injury (not employees) or property damage arising from an occurrence in connection with your business activities or the products you sell.

Help protect against claims for loss or damage

Claims for loss against your business can come from:

  • Damage to property you rent
  • Accidents or negligence on a work site caused by your business activities
  • A faulty or defective product sold by your business

Claims for personal injury

Examples of liability for personal injury could include:

  • Your staff’s negligence causing slips and trips resulting in injury to a customer
  • Customers becoming ill with food poisoning from products sold by your business
  • Supplier slips in your premises while delivering your products

Even when you or your employees are not at fault, you may still need to cover legal costs in defending a claim. Public and Products Liability Insurance can cover legal costs you incur in defending a claim – if authorised by us.
