What is Safety Net Home Protection?
Safety net home protection – included in GIO Classic Extras and GIO Platinum home covers – provides a further percentage of the home sum insured toward the cost of repairing or rebuilding your home if the costs exceed your sum insured.
If your claim is covered we will pay up to a further percentage of the home sum insured to:
- repair or replace the home;
- or pay you the amount quoted by a member of our builder supplier network to repair or replace the home.
For example:
- With a 25% Safety Net, if your sum insured is $400,000 you'll be covered up to a further $100,000.
- With a 30% Safety Net, if your sum insured is $400,000 you'll be covered up to a further $120,000.
