Roadside Assist FAQs
Parts, labour and any other associated costs relating to the management and repair of your car after a breakdown are your responsibility.
We do not currently offer Roadside Assist for vehicles operating as taxis, limousines, rental or hire cars (including any hire car provided to you by us).
Once you’ve called us, you must remain with your car. If our provider arrives at the scene of the breakdown and your car is unattended, we’ll be unable to carry out any work and payment may be required for any subsequent callouts for the same incident. If you have to leave your car for safety reasons, please let us know when you call.
In the event that your car is towed after a breakdown, and it had been towing your caravan or trailer, we’ll cover costs to transport your caravan or trailer to the same location as your car or to the nearest place of safety. You must tell us when you first call for help if this applies to you, as the towing provider may be unable to tow both the car and the caravan/trailer in one callout. If further callouts are required, you might be responsible for related costs.
Yes, your GIO Roadside Assist provides cover when you drive interstate.
